Import a taxonomy from an Excel file

For a faster start, you can format your taxonomy using the provided template and upload it to the app.


Note:  When importing a taxonomy, the following should be considered.


  • The taxonomy Excel Spreadsheet must be in the format that is accepted by Easy Taxonomy™. Learn more on how to format your data in Excel to be imported into Taxonomy?

  • Each taxonomy has a unique code, in case you try to import a taxonomy with an existing code, the import action will add a new version to the existing taxonomy.

  • The uploaded version of the taxonomy will be set to Draft.

  • If the current version of the taxonomy is not in the Published state, it will be set to Archived and the imported version will become the current version.


The following steps shows how to import a taxonomy


1.  Navigate to the Easy taxonomy Dashboard.



2.  Click Import.


The Import Taxonomy dialog is displayed.

3.  Click Choose File.


The Open dialog is displayed.


4.  Select the taxonomy you wish to import from your system.


5.  Click Open.



6.  Click Import.


The Success dialog is displayed.


7.  Click Ok.


The Taxonomy is imported
