Access rights based on roles and taxonomy status

Modified on Sun, 21 Apr at 4:12 PM

Users are assigned different roles based on their level of collaboration and authority. The assigned roles allow users to access and interact with taxonomies in different ways depending on their statuses.

The state transition diagram below illustrates the different states of a taxonomy and their effects on different user roles.

  • Draft: When a taxonomy is in this state, it is visible and can be commented on by all roles except the Reader role. It can be edited and submitted for approval by the editor and approver. The Approver can approve and publish or delete the taxonomy. The administrator can archive, unarchive and delete the draft.

  • Submitted - When a taxonomy is in this state, it is visible and can be commented on by all roles except the Reader role. It can be edited and published only by the approver and can be archived only by the administrator. The admin and approver can delete the taxonomy when it is in this state.

  • Published - Taxonomies in this state are visible to all roles. they can be unpublished by the approver and deleted by both the approver and the administrator. A published taxonomy can be archived by the administrator. In this state, no one can comment on the taxonomy and comments are hidden from all users.

  • Archived - Taxonomies in this state are only accessible by administrators who can keep old versions of the taxonomy until they are no longer needed or delete them.
