Taxonomy has a bilingual interface, and gives you the option to create the taxonomy in two different languages; English and/or French. Bilingualism provides an easy solution for all the organization staff to easily comprehend the taxonomy and use it efficiently to classify information.
During the creation of the taxonomy you need to decide on the language to be used to publish the taxonomy to the SharePoint term store.
Tip: At anytime it is possible to switch the languages between primary and secondary, or even to make it a single language taxonomy.
To switch the languages you just have to export the taxonomy into excel, make the change in the excel and import it back.
When the taxonomy is bilingual two different tabs are displayed for the two languages.
The taxonomy can be viewed in French by clicking Display in Français.
You can click Display in English to view the taxonomy in English.
Note: All fields are mandatory during the submission for approval, including fields in the secondary language.
