How to Add Business-Process to Sub-Function?

The Sub-Function of a Function in a taxonomy can be further classified based on different business processes under them.  This further classification is termed as Business-Process. 


1.  Click  icon on the row of the sub-function you wish to add a business-process.


A dropdown list is displayed.



2.  Click Add New Business-Process.


The business-process details panel is displayed.



3.  Enter the required values in the fields.  Refer to the table below for field names and descriptions:


Note:  The fields with * are mandatory.


Fields

Description

Series Number *

Unique system generated number for the business-process

Name*

The name of the business-process

Description

Information about the business-process


Note:  The Records Management Details section is only displayed at the lowest level of the taxonomy.  For example, if the taxonomy level of details is sub-function, then the Records Management Details section is displayed at the sub-function level.


4.  Under Records Management Details, enter the required values in the fields.  Refer to the table below for field names and descriptions:


Fields

Description

Information Resource of Business Value

 List of different types of information that are created or acquired because they enable and document decision making with regard to programs, services and ongoing operations.

Information Resource of Enduring Value

Types of information that is considered of historic value for the organization or the public.

Retention Period

The period required to retain the records

Retention Trigger

The factor that triggers the start date of retention period

Disposition Action

The action to take place after the retention period ends

Retention Exceptions

The exceptional criteria to retain the records differently from above.

Disposition Authority

The disposition authority number which authorizes the disposition action

Office of Primary Interest

The organization’s department responsible for authorizing the disposition


5.  Click Save.


The business-process is saved.
